Corona Virus Updates - NCCIA 2020

The NCCIA 2020 Conference will commence Wednesday, March 11, 2020, in Pinehurst, NC. The NCCIA has received inquiries about steps being taken to prepare against the Coronavirus situation.

Please know that the NCCIA board members are taking the Coronavirus situation very seriously. We are concerned about the health and well-being of our members.

In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), we would ask that our attendees follow these preventive actions  in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, or the Coronavirus including:

Do NOT attend the conference if you are sick or have any symptoms such as fever, cough, sneezing, etc. Please know that the NCCIA will refund your registration costs if you are unable to attend. If you develop symptoms such as coughing, fever, shortness of breath, etc. while attending the conference, we urge you to leave and seek medical attention promptly (be sure to call ahead in case the medical facility has procedures in place to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus). We will work with Sandhills Community College to designate an area to isolate staff or participants who become ill during the conference.

If you have coughs or sneezing in relation to allergies, please cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash immediately afterward. We plan to bring tissue to place around the conference area.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. The NCCIA has been trying to obtain Hand Sanitizer to place all around the conference, but many places are completely sold out.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth and clean objects and surfaces you touch often with a common household cleaner such as clorox wipes, which will be available.

Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily. The NCCIA has obtained Clorox wipes and we do plan to wipe down the desks and computers after each session.

The lunches on Wednesday and Thursday will be buffet style, but please be assured that the caterer will take the appropriate safety precautions.

Please contact me at if you have particular concerns.
